Now, what on earth does this mean? It means that you have to know where you're heading in order to know what you can and can't do. Jesus did it - He knew that He was heading to Jerusalem and He had chosen following the Father over the things of this world. When things came up He was easily able to say no because He was able to evaluate whether it would get him closer to Jerusalem or not.
So, in your own life what are you saying yes to in order to say no? Do you have a purpose in your life that enables you to say no to things that don't align with or move you closer to that purpose? Sit down this week and write out your "purpose" - what do you want to say yes to, so that you can say no?
